Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM
Diplomate ACVIM, Oncology
Dr. Jeannette Kelly created Veterinary Cancer Care, P.C., in 2004 due to demand for a veterinary cancer treatment center in New Mexico. Dr. Kelly is dedicated to kind and gentle treatment options focusing on quality of life, and the advancement of oncology through multi-institutional clinical trials.
Dr. Kelly earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1994 and performed her internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. She completed her residency in oncology at both University of Pennsylvania and Veterinary Oncology Services and Research Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she worked as an associate until 2001. Dr. Kelly became Board Certified in oncology in 2009.
Dr. Kelly lives in Santa Fe with her son and daughter and multiple dogs, cats, fish, birds, rabbits, mice, hamsters, and other animals. In addition to enjoying many outdoor activities, she is an enthusiastic supporter of the local animal shelters in New Mexico.
At a young age, she always knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field. Her parents showed so much compassion towards every animal and their pets were treated like family. She actually was born in Russia, but was adopted in 2001 and moved to Santa Fe.
She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2013 with her Veterinary Assistant Certificate. Since graduation, she has been working as a technician in general practices for 7 years and now enjoys specializing in Oncology.
When she is not at work, she is spending time with her husband and 4-year old daughter, Elena. You can usually find them outdoors either camping, fishing, farming and/or traveling!
Cesar grew up in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico with horses, chickens, dogs, and a turtle. As a child, Cesar thought he wanted to be a firefighter but spending so much time with his pets ultimately changed his mind. When not at work, you can find Cesar hiking with his 3 dogs, horseback riding, and riding dirt bikes.
