Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM

Diplomate ACVIM, Oncology

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jeannette M. Kelly founded Veterinary Cancer Care in 2004 as a response to the critical need for specialized cancer care for pets in New Mexico. Her vision extended beyond the mere treatment of cancer, aiming to ensure the best quality of life for each of her patients. This vision now anchors the clinic, guided by innovative treatments merging traditional and alternative methods. Dr. Kelly's journey in veterinary medicine began with her graduation from Colorado State University in 1994, followed by an internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. Her dedication and passion for oncology led her to complete a residency at the University of Pennsylvania and the Veterinary Oncology Services and Research Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Here, she honed her skills and laid the groundwork for her future contributions to veterinary oncology. In 2009, Dr. Kelly achieved a significant milestone by becoming Board Certified in oncology, further solidifying her expertise in the field.

Residing in Santa Fe with her family and a diverse array of pets, Dr. Kelly embodies the spirit of compassion and care that she brings to her professional life. Her commitment extends beyond the clinic, as she actively supports local animal shelters and engages in numerous outdoor activities, fostering a strong connection with the community and the environment. Under Dr. Kelly's leadership, Veterinary Cancer Care has become a beacon of hope and healing, driven by an unwavering mission to advance veterinary oncology through multi-institutional clinical trials. Her dedication to kind, gentle treatment options that prioritize the patient's quality of life has set a new standard in veterinary care.
