Senior Oncology Nurse
Megan’s life has been filled with animals from an early age. As a Santa Fe native, she lived both in town and on a family ranch and was involved with 4-H and numerous school activities. Megan earned her BS in Animal Science from New Mexico State University and has been a veterinary assistant for more than 16 years, working with both large and small animals. She is currently attending San Juan Community College to obtain her veterinary technician license. Megan is Veterinary Cancer Care’s “Institutional Memory,” having been with Dr. Kelly for more than 10 years, and has worked in many capacities while here. She has become Dr. Kelly’s “right hand” and senior staff member, finally settling into the role of senior oncology nurse. Megan currently lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with her husband Keegan, sons Declan and Conor, and their dog and cat.
BriAnne joined the Veterinary Cancer Care team almost 2 years ago and also has experience as a veterinary technician for small animal emergency medicine. She lives in Santa Fe with her dog “Bird” who tags along to work with her every day. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of New Mexico. BriAnne and Bird enjoy hiking, camping, and any other outdoor activities in their free time when they are not taking care of patients at Veterinary Cancer Care.
Born and raised in Santa Fe, NM, Rico enjoys connecting with people on and off the clock. When not working at Veterinary Cancer Care, you can find him at the movies or a local coffee shop.
Jessica has lived in Santa Fe since she was 3 years old and fell in love with animals at an early age! Jessica grew up with many pets: Sparkles (Border Collie mix), Frufo (cat), Biscuit (Terrier), Pinta (Blue Heeler), Yittle (Tortoiseshell cat), and Daisy (Miniature Dachshund).
From spending time with all of those pets, she knew she wanted to work with animals in some way. After moving back to Santa Fe after college, she started working in the veterinary field and has now been in the industry for three years.
When she is not at work, you can find her with her boyfriend, Dylan, and their two cats (Eddy and Fitz) and new Cavalier puppy, Clara. She loves to enjoy the outdoors, specifically camping, hiking, or fishing!
At a young age, she always knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field. Her parents showed so much compassion towards every animal and their pets were treated like family. She actually was born in Russia, but was adopted in 2001 and moved to Santa Fe. Sveta grew up with Smokey, a grey Schnauzer, Payton, a long-haired tabby cat, and Mouth, a black short-haired cat.
She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2013 with her Veterinary Assistant Certificate. Since graduation, she has been working as a technician in general practices for 7 years and now enjoys specializing in Oncology.
She currently has two dogs and two cats. Bluey is an 11-week-old Blue Heeler and loves to play with water and chase her best friend cat, Tony. Boy is a 13-year old Shih Tzu her husband adopted from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. Boy loves to sleep and eat treats all day! Tony is a 3-year old outdoor cat and loves hunting animals! Last but not least, there is Mathew, a 5-year old cat, who is definitely a mama's boy! He is super afraid of any noise, but actually loves being outdoors!
When she is not at work, she is spending time with her husband and 4-year old daughter, Elena. You can usually find them outdoors either camping, fishing, farming and/or traveling!
Cesar grew up in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico with horses, chickens, dogs, and a turtle. As a child, Cesar thought he wanted to be a firefighter but spending so much time with his pets ultimately changed his mind. When not at work, you can find Cesar hiking with his 3 dogs, horseback riding, and riding dirt bikes.
