Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM
Diplomate ACVIM, Oncology
Dr. Jeannette Kelly created Veterinary Cancer Care, P.C., in 2004 due to demand for a veterinary cancer treatment center in New Mexico. Dr. Kelly is dedicated to kind and gentle treatment options focusing on quality of life, and the advancement of oncology through multi-institutional clinical trials.
Dr. Kelly earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine fromColorado State University in 1994 and performed her internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. She completed her residency in oncology at both University of Pennsylvania and Veterinary Oncology Services and Research Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she worked as an associate until 2001. Dr. Kelly became Board Certified in oncology in 2009.
Dr. Kelly lives in Santa Fe with her son and daughter and multiple dogs, cats, fish, birds, rabbits, mice, hamsters, and other animals. In addition to enjoying many outdoor activities, she is an enthusiastic supporter of the local animal shelters in New Mexico.
Senior Oncology Nurse
Megan’s life has been filled with animals since an early age. As a Santa Fe native, she lived both in town and on a family ranch and was involved with 4-H and numerous school activities. Megan earned her BS in Animal Science from New Mexico State University and has been a veterinary assistant for more than 16 years, working with both large and small animals. She is currently attending San Juan Community College to obtain her veterinary technician license. Megan is Veterinary Cancer Care’s “Institutional Memory,” having been with Dr. Kelly for more than 8 years, and has worked in many capacities while here. She has become Dr. Kelly’s “right hand” and senior staff member, finally settling into the role of senior oncology nurse. Megan currently lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with her husband Keegan, sons Declan and Conor, and their dog and cat.
