Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM
Diplomate ACVIM, OncologyDr. Jeannette Kelly created Veterinary Cancer Care, P.C., in 2004 due to demand for a veterinary cancer treatment center in New Mexico. Dr. Kelly is dedicated to kind and gentle treatment options focusing on quality of life, and the advancement of oncology through multi-institutional clinical trials.
Dr. Kelly earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine fromColorado State University in 1994 and performed her internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. She completed her residency in oncology at both University of Pennsylvania and Veterinary Oncology Services and Research Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she worked as an associate until 2001. Dr. Kelly became Board Certified in oncology in 2009.
Dr. Kelly lives in Santa Fe with her son and daughter and multiple dogs, cats, fish, birds, rabbits, mice, hamsters, and other animals. In addition to enjoying many outdoor activities, she is an enthusiastic supporter of the local animal shelters in New Mexico.
Senior Oncology NurseMegan’s life has been filled with animals since an early age. As a Santa Fe native, she lived both in town and on a family ranch and was involved with 4-H and numerous school activities. Megan earned her BS in Animal Science from New Mexico State University and has been a veterinary assistant for more than 16 years, working with both large and small animals. She is currently attending San Juan Community College to obtain her veterinary technician license. Megan is Veterinary Cancer Care’s “Institutional Memory,” having been with Dr. Kelly for more than 10 years, and has worked in many capacities while here. She has become Dr. Kelly’s “right hand” and senior staff member, finally settling into the role of senior oncology nurse. Megan currently lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with her husband Keegan, sons Declan and Conor, and their dog and cat.
Front Office ManagerKatie recently moved back to New Mexico after living in Colorado and Montana. She has always surrounded herself with animals, and her family calls her the “animal whisperer” because animals of all sorts love her. Katie is a certified Phlebotomist and a licensed EMT in the state of New Mexico. She’s currently working on her bachelor’s degree with Arizona State University. Katie enjoys traveling, movies, music, and spending time with family. Katie and her cat Zooey live in Los Alamos but are both looking forward to living in Santa Fe soon. Katie is enjoying her role working with Dr. Kelly and her crew and looks forward to meeting and getting to know all of the wonderful patients that come in.
TechnicianStephanie joined the Veterinary Cancer Care team in 2018. Her love for animals started at a young age before moving to New Mexico in 2015. Stephanie currently lives on Kirtland AFB, with her husband Gustav, son Kane, and their two dogs Titan and Moose. She has worked in veterinary emergency, specialty and general practices. Stephanie continues to work hard for our furry friends and plans to continue her education in integrative veterinary oncology. When she has free time, Stephanie likes to spend time with her son and husband, travel and do DIY projects.
BriAnne joined the Veterinary Cancer Care team almost 2 years ago and also has experience as a veterinary technician for small animal emergency medicine. She lives in Santa Fe with her dog “Bird” who tags along to work with her every day. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of New Mexico. BriAnne and Bird enjoy hiking, camping, and any other outdoor activities in their free time when they are not taking care of patients at Veterinary Cancer Care.
