Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM

Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM

Diplomate ACVIM, Oncology

Dr. Jeannette Kelly created Veterinary Cancer Care, P.C., in 2004 due to demand for a veterinary cancer treatment center in New Mexico. Dr. Kelly is dedicated to kind and gentle treatment options focusing on quality of life, and the advancement of oncology through multi-institutional clinical trials.

Dr. Kelly earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine fromColorado State University in 1994 and performed her internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. She completed her residency in oncology at both University of Pennsylvania and Veterinary Oncology Services and Research Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she worked as an associate until 2001. Dr. Kelly became Board Certified in oncology in 2009.

Dr. Kelly lives in Santa Fe with her son and daughter and multiple dogs, cats, fish, birds, rabbits, mice, hamsters, and other animals. In addition to enjoying many outdoor activities, she is an enthusiastic supporter of the local animal shelters in New Mexico.

Senior Oncology Nurse

Megan’s life has been filled with animals since an early age. As a Santa Fe native, she lived both in town and on a family ranch and was involved with 4-H and numerous school activities. Megan earned her BS in Animal Science from New Mexico State University and has been a veterinary assistant for more than 16 years, working with both large and small animals. She is currently attending San Juan Community College to obtain her veterinary technician license. Megan is Veterinary Cancer Care’s “Institutional Memory,” having been with Dr. Kelly for more than 10 years, and has worked in many capacities while here. She has become Dr. Kelly’s “right hand” and senior staff member, finally settling into the role of senior oncology nurse. Megan currently lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with her husband Keegan, sons Declan and Conor, and their dog and cat.

Technician

BriAnne joined the Veterinary Cancer Care team almost 2 years ago and also has experience as a veterinary technician for small animal emergency medicine. She lives in Santa Fe with her dog “Bird” who tags along to work with her every day. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of New Mexico. BriAnne and Bird enjoy hiking, camping, and any other outdoor activities in their free time when they are not taking care of patients at Veterinary Cancer Care.

Business Manager

In 2013, Bridget graduated as a Certified Veterinary Technician with her Associate’s of Applied Science from Vet Tech Institute in Chicago, IL. For the past 7 years, she has worked in emergency and specialty medicine where she has integrated compassion, understanding, empathy and love toward pets and their people.

Bridget currently lives in Albuquerque with her husband Tony, dogs Denver and Frank, and three cats Boo, Meatloaf, and Nugget. When Bridget is not at work, she enjoys hiking, camping, and rockhounding.

Clinical Trials and Community Outreach Coordinator

A tirelessly curious and eager explorer, Tony found himself on an academic quest where he earned a Bachelor’s of English from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and then a Master’s of English from Penn State where he taught English classes for two years.

Once he finished his master’s, Tony and his wife, Bridget, decided to fulfil their individual and shared dream of living in a city, surrounded by vast spaces, sunny skies, mountains, and forests. Albuquerque, New Mexico welcomed them.

Now, Tony is excited to apply his humanities training to help pets and their families find love, care, and treatment options at Veterinary Cancer Care.

Born and raised in Santa Fe, NM, Rico enjoys connecting with people on and off the clock. When not working at Veterinary Cancer Care, you can find him at the movies or a local coffee shop.
