Jeannette M. Kelly, DVM

Diplomate ACVIM, Oncology

Dr. Jeannette M. Kelly founded Veterinary Cancer Care in 2004 as a response to the critical need for specialized cancer care in New Mexico.

Coming from Brooklyn, NY, she was drawn to Santa Fe by the same culture and community that she built her clinic to embody–kindness, compassion, and advocacy. Her love for her patients is truly displayed in the exceptional care she provides as an oncologist. Her passion lies in advancing veterinary oncology until cancer is no longer a factor in our pets’ health or a heartache for our clients.

Elliot Foree

Practice Manager

Elliot has been in the veterinary field for 15 years, working his way from Kennel Assistant to Practice Manager.

He comes to Veterinary Cancer Care from Houston, TX where he’s gained experience in General Practice and a variety of veterinary specialty hospitals. He completed his B.A. in English and Creative Writing with a minor in Business Administration in 2023 from Southern New Hampshire University. At home he has two young sons, a 2 year old mastiff, an 8 year old pitty mix, and 3 cats (who really run the home).

Andrea

Front Office Manager

Andrea is the puppetmaster that we rarely see, but we always feel her presence.

She has contributed significantly to every administrative aspect of our clinic, and is on the frontlines every day for client questions and concerns. Our clinic wouldn’t be where it is today without her care and dedication. Andrea has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2017 and has a wide range of experience spanning General Practice, Equine, and Emergency Medicine.

Alexis

Clinical Operations Lead

If you’ve visited our clinic, you’ll remember Alexis from her positive attitude and brightly colored scrubs.

Alexis was born and raised in El Paso, TX and comes to VCC with 5 years of veterinary experience spanning general practice and surgical specialty. She received her B.S. in Animal Science from New Mexico State University in 2021 and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Colorado. She world consists of Curly, her 4 year old heeler mix, and her two cats under two years old, Mavis and Merle.

Emily

Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Emily brings the whimsy to VCC (if you’ve spoken to her, you’ll know what we mean).

She has worked in the veterinary field since 2022 with experience spanning shelter medicine, general practice, and now oncology. She holds a B.S. in Animal Science with a double minor in Human Animal Interaction and Chemistry. She finds Veterinary Cancer Care to be a fascinating learning environment and has hopes to begin pursue her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine within the next two years.

Aaron

Veterinary Technician

Aaron is the heart of Veterinary Cancer Care.

He can settle the nerves of even the most nervous animal, from the 2lbs kittens to the 150lbs Great Danes. When it comes to making our patients feel comfortable in a new environment, he’s the person we go to. Aaron is a local from Espanola and loves Santa Fe for its culture and community. He brought 14 years of veterinary experience with him to VCC, and we couldn’t imagine the clinic without him!

Raquel

Executive Personal Assistant (EPA)

Raquel is the calm counterpoint that balances out a field of work that can be an emotional hurricane.

She takes on the time consuming and occasionally tedious day-to-day administrative tasks to allow Dr. Kelly to focus solely on her patients and clients. Without her, the clinic’s on-sight office wouldn’t be the positive work-place it is today!

Ashley

Registered Veterinary Technician

Ashley brings an immense amount of critical care experience with her to Veterinary Cancer Care.

She is a Registered Veterinary Technician who earned her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 2024 from Pima Medical Institute. She provides the comforting presence our clients need when faced with their pet’s potential cancer diagnosis and brings a welcoming and professional attitude to our clinic.

Lana

Clinic Technician

Lana has been with VCC for 6 years and knows our clinic in and out.

It’s difficult to pin-point the exact thing that makes Lana special for our clinic, because she brings so many wonderful attributes to Veterinary Cancer Care–even if she prefers to downplay the importance of her presence. She prioritizes her patients’ care above all else and is dedicated to providing compassionate, gold-standard care to every patient who walks through our doors. One aspect of Lana that we love is her dedication to ensuring that all clients receive the knowledge they need to make an informed decision on their pet’s care.
